Christmas Hampers as edible Christmas Gifts & Presents

Gourmet-Christmas-Gift-Hampers-Online

Christmas time is a time of giving, and it’s always interesting to observe the trends in gifts. For the past few years, edible Christmas presents seemed to be all the rage, with everybody getting out there and creating their own, personalised Christmas hampers. I think it’s a great idea – what better way to please the gourmand in your life?

It also allows for that individual creative touch, as you’re only limited by your imagination as to the contents of the gift hamper!

But then again, any time is a good time to give – why not consider presenting a loved one with a hamper for a birthday, anniversary or token of appreciation?

Some traditional favourites are the chocoholic or sweet tooth hamper, but that’s just the icing on the cake! What about a tea or coffee lover’s hamper or a nice spice luxury hamper? Inventing your own hampers means that you can even cater them to specific food, medical or allergy requests or requirements, such as vegetarian, vegan, diabetic or gluten-free.

Christmas Hampers

My first vague recollection of hampers involves lots of tins and non-perishables being donated to the local school or church for a charity hamper. How times have changed as the humble hamper became the flavour of the month!

There are many different items that you can include in a gift or charity hamper – it’s just up to you to determine your own personal touch! Nuts, cheeses, teas and coffees, homemade biscuits, chocolate fondue, chutney, jam, pesto, pickled vegetables… the list of the possible delectable goodies goes on!

Plus, there is always the necessary and accessory – how about a cookbook, a mortar and pestle, or some sort of special utensil?

Save Time and Money by Buying Corporate Gift Baskets Online

Gift baskets are among the most common corporate gifts and yet, these never loose their value and still can make people smile as they receive one.

Corporate gift baskets are good ways to express your gratitude or as awards to special achievements to clients, customers, workers and employees. During holidays though, corporate gift baskets are usually given to everyone in line with the spirit of the events.

Corporate gift baskets can contain anything from collections of wine to cheese and favorite stuffs of the recipient like key chains, neckties, elegant pens with matching pen holders, sunglasses and others. There are sure to be a variety of choices that you can have to make your employees ad clients think of you kindly even long after the contents of the corporate gift baskets are empty.

However, choosing what to give for a corporate gift basket is somewhat confusing and truly needs some thought. Often, the preferences of the recipients should be well regarded as well as fitting your choices of items into the budget you have set for them. While it is often relieving to give something out, the stresses of searching and matching things often make planning eat your time.

Good thing, there are suppliers of corporate gift baskets online that could help you out with your basic problems of looking for perfect gifts, packaging these gifts and sending these gifts to their proper receivers.

One of the many conveniences of availing corporate gift baskets online is that you needed not risk over wrong choices. Often, when we got tired of the search for perfect gifts, we tend to settle on the last gift we see after a long day. This is often the case but it should not be habitually done though. Sadly, for most of us this is the truth.

Buying corporate gifts online can give you a multitude of choices at one glance while not having to spend hours of searching only to spoil this time for a gift that wasn’t worth the search. It is not only comfortable to search through the net for an online corporate gift but it's also comparatively much cheaper than dedicating a day out.

Like with retail stores, offers for online corporate gift baskets include the option of customizing the contents of the gift. This way, you will be given the convenience of adding personal touches on your choice of gifts. The risk with this though is that you have to know the person personally and you must be knowledgeable enough of what his preferences are.

There are various types of corporate gift baskets you can choose from. Gourmet and traditional fruit corporate gift basket for example are relatively low priced while providing the touches of being attractive. The best time of the year to give these selections of items is during holidays.

Other selections include baby corporate gift baskets, wine gift baskets, selections of pen baskets, luxury gift baskets and others.

Choices for items are usually presented through online catalogs.

After choosing your items for corporate gift baskets online, you can place your order and choose the configuration depending on the options given by the merchant. Aside from the basic costs of the items, extra charges will be carried over to answer for the shipment costs and handling.

Christmas Baskets For Christmas Gift Giving

Christmas Baskets For Christmas Gift Giving

By Benita Charles

For many years I have been looking for alternatives to Christmas shopping. I find the crowds annoying, the pushing and shoving unnecessary and parking a nightmare. Having to buy all those presents in a few days shopping after working all day or on a Saturday when everyone and his cousin is doing the same thing takes away from the joy of really appreciating the true meaning of Christmas. I made a plan to do things differently.

The idea came to me when I was out looking for a special present. On every aisle they had gift box ideas. I thought why not take a box and personalize it. I had a friend who loved to read. I bought her a book by her favorite author, put a mug inside with a gourmet hot chocolate tucked in the cup and an aromatic candle. All told the Christmas basket cost me eleven dollars and I knew she would be thrilled with the thoughtfulness of my choices.

For many of my family members I make Christmas baskets full of goodies. For those of you who are familiar with making jellies or canning there are hundreds of recipes that are very easy to fix, require little time and are so much more fun than the traditional tie or sweater. Some choices are zucchini pineapple preserves, jalapeno jelly, lavendar sugar, chocolate coffee, or spiced tea. Make your own gourmet instant soups. All of these are incredibly easy to make and take very little time and can be made months in advance of December. Wonderful Christmas baskets!

If you have a backyard garden try making your own spaghetti sauce, enchilada sauce, pickles or relishes. All vegetables can be dried as well as herbs. Why not try dehydrated tomatoes, bell peppers, squash or onions. Following the directions of your dehydrator chop herbs finely or thinly slice fruits, dry and put into zip lock bags. Keep in the freezer until time to pack into your Christmas baskets and deliver.

Every cook loves fresh herbs. Plant seeds a couple of months ahead of time in very small pots and put under growing lights. Chives, parsley, rosemary, or different mints are favorites. Including these in your Chistmas baskets will make you a favorite of any cook. These are beautiful gifts to give and receive.

For your favorite gardener put a variety of flower or vegetable seeds, bulbs, a favorite tool, gloves or a unique garden ornament into your Christmas basket.

The last ten years I have been making goody baskets for my siblings and immediate family. They have been a huge hit. I bought several 12inch x12inch x 8inch baskets at my local hobby store. In each basket I put a jar of homemade spaghetti sauce, relish or pickle, packages of dried herbs and a jar or two of jelly, homemade pint bag of 12 bean soup, hot cocoa or chocolate coffee.

The exact list that goes into the Christmas basket changes from year to year depending on how much gardening I have an opportunity to do; new ideas or recipes I have found. The wonderful thing is my Christmas baskets are ready to be packed in August or September at the end of the gardening season and I didn't have to beat the rush or the crowds. I hope this has inspired you to try something new this gift-giving season. Try Christmas baskets!
